i'm up on there... i sorta dig it over myspace a lil bit, because of all the myspace BS and it is bare bones.

word. I got on because I was in school. but even if you're not in school I suggest checking it out. I find the layout waaaay more user-friendly and asthetically pleasing than myspace. and the running updates on your friends are cool I think.
I'm not on it, but from what I've heard it's mainly for high school and college students and not so much for the post-BA folks.
Still, my own 19-year-old history students have been trying to convince me all semester to join. Here are some reasons to join according to them:
"The following are a mere 9 of 2000000 gazillion reasons to join
facebook: 1) you can friend us. and we're pretty cool. 2) you can post
pictures like on photobucket or yahoo photos. 3) you can NOT ONLY post
pictures but tag all your friends in them! 4)
you can join groups called anything from "We Love Litwack" to "Jerry
Falwell and Anne Coulter had a Baby and They named it Satan" to "Sexy
History Buffs of America" to "I hella say hella" to "i ghostride
everything that moves" to "oh your running for ASUC senate? blow me!" to
"I'm a little bit in love with jim Halpert." ITS SO COOL!!! In case your
wondering, those are all actual groups that either ***** or ***** or both
are members of. 6) you can look at pictures of people you haven't seen or
spoken to since middle school doing embarrassing things without ever
having to communicate directly! 7) you can search for guys by sexual
orientation and friend all the cute gay guys you want to be friends with
in real life. 8) you can screen your friends for weird political or cult
affiliations and thereby avoid weirdos. We like to limit our libertarian
friends to a small quota. 9) you can find photos of ***** dancing wildly
on a table at a party and of ****** nursing a baby platypus in Australia
last summer (JUST KIDDING! or are we???? you'll never know unless you join
facebook!!!). Convinced yet?????? We have like 40 more reasons, so just
let us know."

I thought about it, but im already a part of so many different forums and communities.
Is facebook a cool place for djs btw the ages of 25-40? I fit into that age bracket. If it's just another bubble gum community, then I don't need to be a part of it.
