but seriously, I ebayed a couple Tabou Combo and Shleu Shleu LPs a couple years back that went for around $300 a pop -- all of which went to France. So apparently the interest has been there for at least a little while now.

Even though I live in Montreal, the absolute best way to get your hands on really incredible haitian records is to listen to all the DJ mixes which include haitian tracks, then listen to the lyrics and try to identify the potential song title, then search that song title on either www.konpa.info or musique.haiti.free.fr or www.antilles-mizik.com and then after simply buy the LP on www.cdandlp.com for less than 20-30 euros... but that's me!
