Ranked #131 in the Soul Strut 200

A long time praised record here on Soul Strut, Air (not to be confused with electronic French duo) had ties to Herbie Mann as his touring band.  Subsequently put out a record on his Embryo label. The album is a great mix of jazz rock / fusion / folk / fusion all anchored by the incredibly soulful vocals of Googie Coppola.  The stand out cut on here is the tear jerker "Mr. Man".  It's one of the most beautiful melancholy songs you've never heard.  The open track "Realize" is not much far behind.  If you want to pick it up a notch and here the band rip, "Baby, I Don't Know Where Love" is a lovely taste of keyboard driven jazz rock.
