Hand picked records important to the history of Soul Strut.
Black Sugar was a jazz rock band from Peru in the early 1970s that incorporated latin and funk rhythms in their work. It's debatable which of their two releases is better. My choice would be this debut. When funk collectors became bored of American music in the 90s / 00s, they started to branch out to obscure international bands like this. They don't hold a candle to James Brown, but are exotic enough to impress your fellow collectro nemisis. Black Sugar deliver on cuts like "Funky Man," "The Looser," and "Too Late". Unfortunately, the recording is a bit too lo-fi to truly move the groove, but is novelty enough to be worthy of conservation.
MOST WORTH IT HUNDRED DOLLAR RECORD--???
