Ranked #149 in the Soul Strut 200
Mythically rare Mexican funk instrumental LP that was all the hype on here in the late 2000s. Rabbits & Carrots were a late 60s / early 70s club band from Mexico City that released this LP and an equally as funky 7" EP that went unnoticed until some heavyweight funk collectors started flossing it. Highlights on here include their moody psychedelic interpretation of "Romeo Y Julieta" which is taylor made for a Dusty Fingers comp, the Meters-esque "Funky Chicken", and the only original composition by the band (which is a James Brown rip-off anyways) "Las cuatro culturas". Add to that a groovy fish-eyed cover photo adorned with psychedelic calligraphy and you have a winner.
RABBITS & CARROTS RE-ISH.... LATE PASS!!
