Ranked #159 in the Soul Strut 200

Highly regarded mid 70s session engineered by drummer great Idris Muhammad. This is his third album where he graduates from Prestige soul jazz to the slick CTI smooth jazz fusion sound.  The album is a quick 30 minute trip but features some tasty nuggets from Grover Washington Jr., Bob James, Randy Brecker, and so on. The REAL treat and the reason why this album commands attention is his cover of Washington's tune "Loran's Dance".  Besides it being immortalized by hip hop legends like the Beastie Boys and a Tribe Called Quest, the song is a 10 minute orgasmic burner anchored by a stone cold Rhodes-riddled groove and the transcending sax lines of Grover Washington Jr.  A crate classic if there ever was one.
