Alan Tew / Bullet - The Hanged Man

Ranked #126 in the Soul Strut 200

Oh, HEL YES!  This is by far my favorite funky soundtrack and the undisputed heavyweight champion of crime funk.  This is a soundtrack to the the Yorkshire TV series "The Hanged Man" in the 1970s, but us Yankees know it best for the track "The Heist" which was used as The People's Court theme song.  The whole album has a UK Library music feel a la mid 70s tight, dry jazz funk with Starsky & Hutch / Rockford Files inspired synth lines.  Other highlights include the oft sampled "The Peterman", "The Spic"  and many more.   Alan Tew (a lot Alans in the UK Library Music game) also released a much rarer and similar suite of recordings (with some tracks reused) for the Themes Library label called Drama Suite Volume 1 & 2 that is in the same vein.  As they say,  they don't make them like this no more.
