I was going to see him last month, but he had to cancel due to an issue with his back which did not allow him to sit upright for long periods of time. Unsure if that and his death, aside from his age, were related. I got to see him live five years ago, though.

His life story is pretty remarkable. From childhood, WWII, Civil Rights, entertainment career, etc etc etc. What a life. Dude should really have his story properly told on the big screen.

Not sure if this is what was being referred to, but according to Wiki there was a second incident ten years after, this time involving questionable materials tucked away inside lot buys of vintage gay man raer. If I were in his dapper white shoes, I would have exercised discernment to vet and report garbage from an otherwise legal collection. However it was similar to Pete Townshend's "I was doing research to prove a point" case: insufficient evidence.
