Have we done a definitive list of these? The only ones I can think of for some reason are Deodato's from Prelude and Percy Faith from Clair? What else is out there? Let's make a master list!

Sideral Group - 2001 Odyssée De L'Espace

these are the ones I have

Black Motion Picture Experience:

There is one by the ventures with a break that isn't on youtube.

Then there is a decent one on a record called "Classics Go Disco".

"World Of Tomorrow" by the Guyanese group Telstars on their 'Orbiting' LP on WIRL

The Radio Shack stereo test LP

I also have a poorly recorded, mildly funky one on a hand printed LP from a concert (which also has a monologue by Ed McMahon elsewhere) at a South Bay Catholic church.

I have a cool version from a Japanese record that I cant seem to find, starts off a little straight but towards the end there are some cool Rhodes moments. If I can find it I'll upload it

Daly-Wilson Big Band "Space Odyssey - 2001"

The Galactic Force Band "Theme From 2001"

Are these all covers of Deodato? (Which spell check wants to change to deodorant. "It's too funky in here, put an air freshener under the drums")

Or were other people funking it up before Deodato?

[Yes I know it's composed by Strauss and was used as a movie theme, I am talking about funky version.]

Erwin Lehn Orchestra - DJ OneCut/Masterchef put this version on an old Solid Steel mix that I gave up looking for. It's damn funky, wurlitzer organ stuff.

I want to hear that!

Trying to find it (in vain...) brought me here (some we hadn't listed yet):
