Yeah, agree - she's from Toronto too (local to me), so I'm sad I missed it. Sad because it's a sign of me getting old and out of touch. Maybe one day I'll be hip and happening again like Jimster.

Same. I went to buy a copy of the vinyl and it was sold out. Oh well.

She's from London IIRC and then moved to The USA's Davy Crockett Hat™ so she's local to you now . I'd contact her directly via the so-shill medias. It's worked for me in the past with other artists who don't walk around like they're bigger than Prince. Like, I got a private press CD(!) last week from a guy who I have been pestering since 1992 for it. Just the 30 years. It is no matter for us immortals.Speaking of which, it's good to want to be like me, but like Tigger and Highlander, there can be only one. But Hip and happening lessons available over Skype, 1 Bitcoin p/h. Bring your own mortgage, wife, kids and grey hairs.

Can we poast wonky/broaken beatz in here too?

Asking for a hip and happening friend.

Hey, it's what all the kids are listening to....

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/apr/22/its-just-good-energy-how-tiktok-and-covid-made-drumnbass-hot-again

"“I grew up around soundsystem culture, as half of my family are Jamaican, and I was always drawn to that sound, the drums and the distorted bass,” Nia Archives told an interviewer this year, adding – and any original junglists may want to look away now, lest they feel impossibly ancient – “my nana loves jungle”."

Now that everyone feels like they need a Zimmer frame, I gotta admit - Even someone as hip as me (roooight?), I ain't never done heard of these TikTok D&B'ers. Man has 'nuff plates to spin. Anyone else got these acts on their radar? I mean, who could resist this sales pitch:

"There are emo-seeming types with manga illustrations instead of artist photos, lots of Xs and Vs in their names and song titles that one assumes are tongue-in-cheek: xxtarlit has an online mix called Bad Goth Bitch Music To Cut/Worship Lucifer To."

LOL. I suppose as a fan of Jungle I should be happy a new generation are breathing life/popularity into the genre, but that it's mainly focused on bullshit tiktok videos is a bit like the first time you hear a once-rare-as-hell funk 45 being played as part of Starbucks' corporately approved in-cafe playlist.

Promise has, to me, always sounded like a lighter jazzier version of Vicious. Can't hate on a nice Sade vocal of course!
