I've collected various things over the years, and eventually I either lost interest, gave up, ran out of money, or all of the above. They include:
1. COMICS
I was always a Marvel fan, and since everyone was into the X-Men, I got into [B}Alpha Flight and Excalibur, and anything that was a slight offshoot. I also collected Marvel stuff that I knew wouldn't take off, but figured it would be interesting years later to say "I had that". It would be interesting to see what's out there now, as I haven't collected in almost 20 years.
I did like to collect mini-series, and I would occasionally go into the DC world for a few.
2. POGS
I wasn't a big collector of these when the resurfaced in the late 80's/early 90's, but what I did want was pogs which featured the schools I went to, certain foods I ate, restaurants, etc. They didn't have pogs when I was growing up, that was from my mom's time.
3. MAGAZINES
I'm slowly tossing out a lot of the magazines I have in storage, at least now I can scan what I want and recycle the rest. I did collect "Giant Robot" for awhile, but I'm behind about two or three years. Need to catch up, that's essential bathroom reading. Right up there with Hustler's Taboo.

I would like to collect:
SUPER 8MM FILM CAMERAS
I have two broken ones in a box somewhere, although over the years when I have found one that works, I've done weird little projects for myself, nothing worth looking at. My dad had a Bell & Howell Super 8mm camera, and it was always cool to have him or my mom film us doing whatever. I have some film of me skateboarding when I was 5 and 8, which in turn features the only moving footage I have of my dad, which is cool. I also like the grainy, home look of it, and while reels are costly, especially at 3 minutes a pop, I still think one can make some interesting things.
CERTAIN MOVIE POSTERS & LOBBY CARDS
Concert films, documentaries, and surf films: lobby cards are great and I remember the ones they had for
Breakin' (the one with Lucinda Dickey and that outfit she wore in the last scene). I know there's a book that came out recently, featuring posters of old surf films (Surf Movie Tonight!). Before I got into music, it was surf and skateboard magazines I looked into, and Rick Griffin (well known Bay Area artist) did a number of surf posters and ads, I knew of him with that before I knew what he did in music. It would be great to find a poster of Hot Lips & Inner Tubes.
VINTAGE STEREO/AUDIO GEAR
I guess it would be more useful to have a decent studio or a listening room, so getting into that will wait for awhile. Show me some stereo porn, and I'm all goo-gee.
