Quote:<b, 21<b, 21It seems all the so-so tracks are now bonus tracks for the various retailers. Surprised "that's sexy" wasn't included, why not have Andre 3stacks on a album?<b, 21<b, 21Quo:<b, 21<b, 21what other great releases rap wise are you talking about? That Black Milk is kinda "meh". In the past someone would have posted soundscan numbers to decide if it was great or not. For now, all we know is this: Circuit City filed Chapter 11 yesterday.

soundscan tracks digital sales too and is, now adays, the best way to tell if people are actually buying the music (ala iTunes) or just talking about it and sharing it. I'm curious to see if the "girlfriends" crowd are buying this. I'm curious to see if the ex hip hop dudes are buying this. Buying. Someone post scans!

Quote:<b, 21<b, 21I didnt read it as a consumer question. I thought you alluding to cultural significance w/ the Girlfriends & Ex-Hip Hop Dudes thingy.....my bad.

Quote:Quote:Quote:<b, 21<b, 21That sums it up right there. It's not a "classic" that I can see, but I would say it does fill a void on some 30 and up ish. <b, 21<b, 21And Cosmo, I can see what she's saying. I was listening to it in the car and thought "this is basically that era...today." He was able to keep that vibe and sound and make it relevant for now. I'm not mad, I think it's a good record.

I think I am with you Day. It's the modern sound with a bit of the flava from the days when you would have been waiting for any Tribe related album to drop. Or at least me. I was a huge Tribe fan before it became the cool thing to do. Then I was a closet Tribe fan. I can't talk about things with people when they are popular most of the time. I become jaded against my own liking then. I will say for new "Hip Hop" it has hit the spot a bit.
