Many Jamaican songs about repatriation, but this one stands out to me for some reason...I think because the music or lyrics or whatever it is seems to convey some genuine sense of movement, more so than other Reggae that seems to embody more a sense of stagnation...thoughts about moving and building but inevitably lapsing into a sentiment of being stuck in a particular place and time, hoping for better. This one seems like there's actual decision and resolution...but could entirely just be how I'm hearing it.
Also that last track on the Trap Door Mystery Mix about leaving the city. Very nice.
There's also a Jim Croce song about leaving New York that I used to think was good, but upon listening again decided not to post. Not sure it's that sweet. But seek it out if you're a fan. I'm undecided.
