the last song you played on repeat

I'm still rocking The Joker almost every day, but I've been listening to this more and more as well.

Hey,

I've had this, a little ditty featured on my latest "Don't Wake Me, I'm Dreamin'" mix, on repeat:

Peace,
Big Stacks from Kakalak

This popped up on the iphone while on shuffle on the commute in and I ended up looping it over and over. The epic, overblown, string laden chorus killed me in the semi awake state I was in at that time in the morning. Don't know how I didn't really pick up on how great this was before.. Also just found out from that youtube clip that it's the same Dynamics who did First Landing so the more you know etc.

Zerben R Hicks And The Dynamics Lights Out

I saw these guys perform at Jazzfest in New Orleans last week. I was not really that well versed in their music up until that point. But I am game for anything.

There was a moment that happened. My friend and I, standing there in the Louisiana sun, watching them perform this song. Our heads bopping and our feet moving. And everything for that moment was absolutely perfect. Literally for that moment, I was the happiest I had ever been in my life.

possibly not soulstrut-friendly, but i can't get enough of this at the moment... like low-tempo house, with shades of arthur russell. it's the kind of music all the dubstep kids might have been making had they grown up on house and disco instead of drum & bass and garage.

Damn, really liking this, just performed the obligatory Youtube search and found this one as well. I'm sold.

Had this on all morning in the cans at work. Just love them chords and the bass sound. Been familiar with it for a long time but it's a perennial fave:

like 4x repeat.

would love recommendations of other stuff along these same lines: sweet melodies on top of modern riddims
