we can go on and on about expensive records we got for cheap...how about the most yall have spent on that 1 (maybe 100) record you had no qualms about dropping loot on.<b,121<b,121add to the fact that you may have over paid or underpaid at the time.<b,121<b,121<b,121Stark Reality $350 bought from youngenstein a while back...considering i had been after that lp since about 95' i thought that was cheap. I still could sell it for more.<b,121<b,121Last year I luckily got that twilight lp from kidinquisitive ( thanks to cool chris for connecting the dots)<b,121The $300 i spent i have no regrets about....killer lp.

Off the top of my head a few that I've paid $$$500+ for in the last few years:<b,121<b,121<b,121-East of the Underground<b,121-Marvin Whoremonger<b,121-Webster Lewis<b,121-D.R. Hooker<b,121-Michael Angelo<b,121-P.E. Hewitt<b,121<b,121<b,121<b,121On the topic of Stark Reality, I got my copy on ebay for $150 back in 2001 or some shit. Unplayed in shrink. They had it in the "Pop" music bucket, I think I might have been the only bidder.

Most I have spent was $225 for Earl Carter and the Fantastic 6<b,121<b,121paid $200 for Soul Seven- Mr. Chicken Shit 45<b,121<b,121Gone over $100 many times. Yet to break the $300 barrier.

700$ and up:<b,121<b,121T.J. Hustler<b,121???? Soul Acetate from Detroit via Brad<b,121???? Great Western Soul Acetate from LA<b,121Thrust Too <b,121<b,121This is offset by the fact I bought a mint The Wooden Glass from Dusty Groove in 2001 for 32$ and a Webster Lewis from them for 60$ and the countless one offs i have found around la for nothing, I don't mind dropping for white whales cause i've had my share of luck.

7 dollars for funky nassau <b,121

i think like $60 for Syl Johnson "Is It Because I'm Black"<b,121<b,121i look back and think i probably wouldnt of done it but at the time i really wanted that record

the most i paid for something... hmmm, i think i'd have to say it was 100up for $$ Kash Register $$<b,121<b,121dropped a lot of $100 flats for stuff, but i can't think of one thing that i had to take out more than $100 plus food/beer money on besides that 45.

<font class="post"1<b,121<b,121Indeed. <b,121<b,121now i need to convince him to sell me that 45. 4 figures is still on the table for it.

<font class="post"1<b,121<b,121niiice<b,121wow... such an odd price too. "that'll be $30...uhhh make it $32...we're short on ones".<b,121<b,121<b,121<b,121Back on the stark tip...Bob Gibson put me up on that lp 14 or so years ago, always thinking i could do what he did and find at least a copy for under a dollar ( he got 2) first person to buy that on the high endwas pete rock, off of him for $500 back then.<b,121<b,121Bob sold his collection to Ubiquity for a huge amount. So much knowledge.

<font class="post"1<b,121<b,121Did you wine cellar this or do you bump it in the spot?

I've played it when I got it and on my wedding anniversary, but other than that I keep it "wine cellared" (haha)
