Diana In The Autumn Wind LP (1968)

    GRC

Ranked #193 in the Soul Strut 200

What can be said about this album other than it's probably thee most sought after album for J Dilla sample collectors (with enough left over for the budding sample based producer).  With that out of the way, it has some solid electric piano jazz tracks that get funky and some notable players (a young Steve Gadd and bassist Tony Levine before he enjoyed success with Peter Gabriel). For the thrifty ones, you could save $100 and get the highly sampled crate digger classic "Diana in the Autumn Wind" on Mangione's major label debut Sing A Long Junk.  OK, I promise not mention Gap or his brother, flugelhorn sensation, Chuck "Feels So Good" Mangione in a review ever again.
