Third album by solid as a rock soul combo Ashford & Simpson. Come As You Are has a nice raw energy for 1976 right before uber slick production techniques took foot hold. While there is some quality soul on here like the track "Sell the House," the track to SCREAM about is the underground disco burner "One More Try" complete with some sublime Santana-like guitar licks. The rare promo 12" has an incredible funky breakdown and is considered a holy grail for disco collectors.
