Hand picked records important to the history of Soul Strut.
I first saw this LP down at the Egon and Miles' night in LA, "Funky Sole." Cut Chemist was rocking a cut off of it but I barely saw the cover, let alone copy down the name. As luck would have it, the GM got it in and I was able to later find a copy online - not a cheap record, lemme tell you, but solid Brazilian funk. Not all of it is nicey nice - there's actually some dreck on here too but what blows me away is the covers dude rocks - "Sock It To 'Em, J.B.," "Kool and the Gang," and one that totally surprised me: "Tuck's Theme." Not like this Bill Deal's song was obscure but who would have thought you'd find it here?
