I'm Still In Love With You LP (1972)

    Hi Records

Ranked #66 in the Soul Strut 200

Al Green album that continues to make every list imaginable including the Rolling Stone 500, Mojo Top 70s Soul, and of course, the most important, the Soul Strut 100 as a Grade A end to end classic.  This record is proof that producer Willie Mitchell had the best ears in music at the time. This album caught Al at just the right time. After he'd stopped being a southern-soul shouter, but just before his smooth-soul schtick started to get old.

The album is timeless and is a gateway drug for anyone who dabbles in 70s soul.  I'm Still in Love with You features the smooth stepper title track, the R&B smash "Love and Happiness," and perhaps the most relevant to Soul Strut, "I'm Glad Your Mine, with it's much sampled drum intro (trip hop anyone?)  T

An easy one to find on LP and an even easier one to file.
