RIP Waxidermy.com

Oh crazy, I tried to join last year and never got a response. Guess it's time to re-read all the waxi vs strut beef threads in the archives.

Freal doe... Any wax site demise is unfortunate. Loads of dual/ex Strutteurs up in that bith. They might be back still, iirc it's hcrink that was the driving force there. If he has other shit to do then his work should still be acknowledged.

HCrink deserves a lot of credit holding it together for this long. I hope he resurrects the site but I think he's tired of dealing with managing it.

Damn. seriously? Anybody have specific details? I was nostalgic earlier this year and lurked for a minute. Crink was bitching that he couldn't afford the hosting fees and if the board crashed one more time he was out. Sad news.

Both the website and forum have been down for weeks. Last week I asked a friend in the bay area if they had talked to HCrink about it. HCrink told him he is having some hosting issues and needs to talk to the hosting service, but just hasn't taken the time to do it. So it may come back online.

That message board is around 20 years. It should have been updated years a go to keep up with modern security measures. It was only a matter of time before it became obsolete.

Haha I paypalled him $300 to keep the site up like two years ago as a patron of the arts. The budget must have ran its course.

Oh shit. I didn't realize that you sponsored the forum until now.

Also, It appears the threads aren't archived on Waybackmachine like I thought it would be. Huge loss if the site isn't rebooted.

I finally registered here after lurking for about 15 years. I was on Waxidermy, and hope it gets restored because of all the great stuff I learned over the years. I also used to be on long dead boards like Terminal Boredom, goner records, Underground Hip Hip, Bay Area Rap/91sickness, Andre Nickatina, etc.

Glad this place is still around and the archives are still up.

Bless,

-N

Man I hope there's a backup/archive of all the great shit on Waxi.
I really want to reboot waxidermy.
There was a song about not being able to buy groceries, in the back of the folk songs list.
Purple and white album cover of a guy sitting on a speaker with a guitar.
Maybe named Harry?
Hope someone can help.

I asked some of the old Waxidermy members and these were the only two that people came back with.
Maybe this
