Hand picked records important to the history of Soul Strut.
Black Nasty's lone release, 1973's Talking To The People, took the route of home town favorites Funkadelic, ripping speaker cones with their unique brand of psychedelic funk rock that made many recommendation lists here on the Strut. This is most evident on tracks like "Getting Funky Round Here", "We're Doin' Our Thing", and the title cut. There are a few straight forward female soul cuts on here. I could only image that they were added to entice R&B radio if the more rock oriented tracks fell flat. Unfortunately, Black Nasty never caught on. Oddly enough, ashes of the band formed the ADC band which cloned the late 70s stylings of P-Funk, ultimately wearing their George Clinton influence on their sleeve yet again.
