Hand picked records important to the history of Soul Strut.
The Gordon's War soundtrack is considered top of the heap when it comes to 1970s Blaxploitation funk/soul music (up there with Roy Ayers' Coffy and Isaac Hayes' Shaft). The soundtrack features the likes of Barbara Mason and New Birth, but it's the studio creation Badder Than Evil that steals the show delivering heavy, mind numbing funk especially on the cut "Hot Wheels (The Chase)". The track is an exhilarating uptempo horn driven dance floor bomb with plenty of wah wah guitar and greasy clavinette tailor made for your next B-Boy event. There are some other solid tracks on here like "Tell That Man To Go To Hell" and "Super Shine", but "Hot Wheels" takes the cake by a mile.
