    I'm Just A Prisoner LP (1970)

    Fame

Before Candi Staton ‎was best known for her watered down major label disco hits, she cranked out stripped down bible belt soul and funk on Muscle Shoals Fame label.  I'm Just a Prisoner is the first of three releases on the the imprint and does not disappoint.  Tracks like the uptempo funker "Evidence", the swampy soulful "I'm Just A Prisoner (Of Your Good Lovin')", and the cult classic "I'd Rather Be An Old Man's Sweetheart (Than A Young Man's Fool)" are just a few highlights of a solid debut.
