Hand picked records important to the history of Soul Strut.
Album recorded by St. Louis session musicians in the mid 70s that contains some notable funk cuts including the much celebrated version of Gil Scot-Heron's "The Bottle." The rest of the album embraces the popular stylings of Sly and the Family Stone, Bill Withers, etc all shrink-wrapped with with a budget lo-fo sound that creates the illusion you are indulging in raer. They went on to release three more tepid disco funk LPs on various Sylvia Robinson imprints (Turbo, Sugar Hill) that failed to capture the magic of this first record.
