Hand picked records important to the history of Soul Strut.
I know, this resembles something you might find in a box with Montovani and the 101 Strings. And Dick Hyman too!!? This ain't no moog record with a quirky James Brown cover either, kiddies, and certainly not one commonly seen at the Salvation Army. Considered a holy grail to some e-z, lounge heads, this one only has a small devoted following in the digger community. My reckoning is "heads just don't know!". This is Hyman's finest hour (at 36 years of age), a joint venture with North Carolina vocal vixen Mary Mayo making music for the 22nd Century (in the 1960s.) The result is a beautiful mixture of angelic voices, cosmic electronica, and snappy rhythms. The title track is just a hint of the gold mine of sample fodder on here. Catch this if you can.
