Hand picked records important to the history of Soul Strut.
Lamont must of taken hit of LSD that lasted him about 5 years. This jazz psychopath/space cadet was on some other stuff. His album on the Mainstream label Sun, Moon, and Stars used the most insane tones I have ever heard on a keyboard. The album Nine came out 2 years later and as those same keys and a funky band playing along with him (Ronnie Laws, Ndugu, Chuck Rainey, and Blue Mitchell), but this time Lamont has come with a philosophy that he wants his fans to listen to. A good majority of the tracks are funky but what really grabs me is his keyboard sounds and his ramblings on the back cover about how amazing the number 9 really is.
